Vice President of Laboratory Services is responsible for the
overall -strategic leadership, operational excellence, and
financial performance of all -laboratory services across the UNC
Health system. This includes directly overseeing -clinical
pathology, anatomic pathology, and other diagnostic laboratory
-services. The Vice President will work collaboratively with
clinical and -administrative leaders to ensure the highest quality
of patient care, -innovative service delivery, and efficient
resource utilization.Responsibilities:Laboratory Services: Develop
and implement a comprehensive, system-wide laboratory services
strategy aligned with UNC Health's mission, vision, and values.
Identify and pursue opportunities for growth, expansion, and
innovation in laboratory services. Stay abreast of industry trends,
emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting laboratory
medicine. Represent UNC Health's laboratory services in relevant
professional organizations and forums. Oversee the daily operations
of all laboratory departments, ensuring high-quality,
patient-centered care. Leads lab workforce and optimizes leadership
and staffing models to ensure optimal delivery of care. Establish
and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, safety,
efficiency, turnaround time, and patient satisfaction. Implement
process improvement initiatives to enhance operational workflows
and optimize resource utilization. Foster a culture of
collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement across
laboratory services. Ensure compliance with all applicable
regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements (e.g., CAP,
CLIA). Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets
for laboratory services. Monitor financial performance against
targets and implement corrective actions as needed.Identify and
pursue opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings. Negotiate
contracts with vendors and payers to ensure favorable terms and
conditions.Leading People: Leads people toward meeting the

InformationEducation Requirements:--- Bachelor's degree in
healthcare administration or business administration or a related
field is required. Master's preferred.Licensure/Certification

Requirements:--- Requires twelve (12) years of progressively
responsible laboratory services experience, including ten (10)
years of people management experience overseeing laboratory
services.Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:--- Deep
understanding of clinical laboratory operations, including
pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes.---
Thorough knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards, such as
CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and HIPAA, and the ability to ensure compliance
across the system.--- Awareness of emerging trends and technologies
in laboratory medicine, as well as changes in reimbursement and
healthcare policy.--- Excellent communication skills (verbal,
written, and presentation) to effectively interact with various
stakeholders, including executives, physicians, staff, patients,
and regulatory agencies.--- Strong analytical and problem-solving
skills to identify and resolve issues, streamline processes, and
improve efficiency.--- Commitment to providing high-quality,
patient-centered laboratory services that meet the needs of
