Job Title: Customer Sales Account Manager
We are seeking a motivated and talented full-time Customer Sales
Account Manager that can be based anywhere in North Carolina or
South Carolina.
The mission of our client is to provide technologically advanced,
stable, and easy – to-use enterprise-level software for library
staff and their patrons. Our client employs over 350 diverse and
energetic professionals worldwide-from San Francisco to Australia.
Their products are used every day by people in over 50
countries and 20 languages at academic, public, law, and medical
libraries.
The Customer Sales Account Manager is devoted to growing business
within EXISTING Innovative customers and partnering with them
throughout all stages of the sales cycle. The
Consultant will drive regional sales results and is accountable to
meet established targets.
Description of Responsibilities:
Responsible for exceeding sales quota within assigned territory by
expanding current accounts.
Partner with all levels within the accounts to expand the system
and develop a plan for growth.
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate software add-ons,
hardware, and services. Become proficient in configuration of
software, hardware, and services to supplement existing projects
and create up sell opportunities for revenue growth.
Conduct high-level onsite meetings, detailed product presentations,
web-ex presentations, and participation in trade conferences are
also required.
Provide outstanding, timely and accurate proposals and other
information to customers.
Expectations:
The Customer Sales Account Manager (SAM) is devoted to both new
business development and growth within existing accounts. They will
be responsible for supporting the bid process selling our client’s
software, or any of its complementary products.
Responsibilities include:
Developing early (i.e. pre-process) business relationships with
prospects, through site visits and follow up communication.
High-level onsite meetings, detailed product presentations, web-ex
presentations, and participation in trade conferences are also
required. The position requires a minimum of 50% travel.
1st year quota will be $1.5M and will be adjusted for the calendar
year. All team members are currently on track to meet quota.
Average sales cycle is around 2 years but has been as short
as 5 months.
Responsibilities:
•Coordinate and assemble detailed written responses and proposals
for competitive bid for software products and/or services.
•Maintain the relationships existing clients identifying new
opportunities for growing business.
•Weekly team meetings and regular communication with Manager
•Meet with library staff and committees to build strong
relationships
•Multiple meetings and product demonstrations
•Works with Sales Engineers
•Maintains and reports on pipeline activity
•Meets sales quota
•50% travel
The Ideal Candidate will have:
•2+ years’ experience in sales
•Excellent communication skills with a diverse range of decision
makers
•Strong relationship building skills
•Degree preferred
•Strong writing skills with a special emphasis on translating
technology-based information into effective communications.
•Understanding of the library and/or technology marketplaces.
•Solid understanding of company competitors and competitive
offerings.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and
PowerPoint.
•Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
